Jake Delhomme Visiting Broncos

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Panthers long-time QB Jake Delhomme is visiting a bunch of teams, and the Broncos are one of them.

Wouldn’t be a bad pickup, he’s a guy that will be a competent backup and who knows–he could even take over the starting job if Orton somehow blew out a cluster fart during the season. Much rather have a Delhomme stepping in, than a Brandstater or Simms.

Broncos Visit Tony Pike, Mardy Gilyard

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

The Broncos sent offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and QB coach Ben McDaniels to the University of Cincinnati Pro Day to spy on WR Mardy Gilyard and QB Tony Pike.

I’m tellin’ you I wouldn’t mind that Pike, I don’t care one bit about his combine throws–there’s a reason QB’s don’t want to throw there–they end up looking like crap because they’re throwing to wide receivers they know nothing about.

Broncos Release LB Andra Davis

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

The Broncos release Andra Davis, he wasn’t that bad a player for us, but he wasn’t that great either. What he was decent at was flying up in there run-blitzing, not so much just being solid against the run.  We’ll get someone, whether it be that Larsen who might be a better tackler in there, or they’re looking to the draft or a trade or signing is about to surface.

Fare You Well Kenny Peterson

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Well the Broncos released DE Kenny Peterson and G Mitch Erikson.

I got no complaints with Kenny Peterson, we didn’t give up anything to acquire him, we never had higher expectations for him and he played OK for us.

If we don’t pick up one of these veterans out there between now and the draft (like a Derek Anderson), I think we are looking at taking a quarterback with a second round draft pick, maybe a first.

Broncos Sign NT Jamal Williams for 3 yrs

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

We signed that Jamal Williams. Very good, lets hope he’s got at least two great years in him. Plus, he’ll probably be in a rotation here–Brilliant.

Glad we stole him from the Bolts–Klis, you’ve been a decent purveyor of truths at the Post but you may want to wait before jumping the gun: Jamal Williams not happening here.

A surprise signing, I expected one big name guy on the line and most of them got franchised.

Hopefully he stays healthy. Plus, in the same day we get a guy who can contribute some sacks (like I said–we can’t have one guy making them all)

Time to draft offense.

P.S. How about that free agency, eh there Jeff Fisher?

Broncos Sign DE Jarvis Green

Jarvis Green Broncos

Jarvis Green Broncos

Nice signing, while they say “rotational” there’s something to be said about starting 8 years for the Patriots and going to a couple Superbowls. We ain’t wearing down again on that d-line, no way no how.

We’re going for proven football players who get the job done, not big name stars. I said I wanted a guy who can get you 7-8 sacks on that d-line, this guy is capable, certainly an upgrade, but I believe Robert Ayers will be a starter this year, and there you go.

Some say we don’t need to draft a Dan Williams now, I disagree–if the Broncos like him, even if we got that Jamal Williams. That Bannan can play end, that Dan Williams can even play end and that Jamal Williams ain’t the long term answer, plus depth at the point of attack is never a bad thing.

DE Jarvis Green Visiting Denver Broncos

Monday, March 8th, 2010

The Patriots DE Jarvis Green is visiting Denver. You see what’s going on here, eh? Depth and rotation.

All this “wearing down,” of the defensive line will not be tolerated. McDaniels and Co. will field a rotation hitherto never before seen in Denver. What’s that they’re doing in Baltimore, eh? Rotating three nose tackles?

Not a bad idea.

NT Jamal Williams in Denver

Monday, March 8th, 2010

The Bolt’s Jamal Williams in Denver taking a physical, says Michael Lombardi. That’s good, let’s steal him, hopefully he has a year or two or three left in him. I’d imagine that Nunnely we got will factor in. Wayne Nunnely who was expertly signed and stolen from the Bolts by McDaniels. The Wayne Nunnely who people fail to give credit for with our overachieving defensive line of no names. Reading some of these sea cucumbers you’d think our defense went out the door with Mike Nolan–what a joke.
