Denver Broncos: A Tale of Late Season Woe

Denver Broncos Playoffs Tim Tebow

Denver Broncos Late Season Nightmares

Well it looks like that Horvil Tiki has gone off the deep end, serves him right. He’s making absolutely no sense (not that he ever did). The losses in the ass end of the season (yet again) probably got to him.

I suppose I could outline all the flaws about last weeks game. Talk about our offensive coordinator who thinks a seven point lead in the first quarter warrants running the ball up the middle on first, second and third down (I guess this guy thinks we are a power running team.) How Tim Tebow sucked, how our defense sucked and has been sucking the last three games. How our pass rush was non-existent yadda yadda, whatever.

It all goes away if the Broncos win this Sunday.

Whether it’s by one point or twenty, win and all the BS from the last couple games goes away.

Lose and the Broncos and Tim Tebow will hear about it ALL YEAR LONG.

Are you confident about this team winning against Kansas City this Sunday?

I ain’t.

Not with what I’m seeing out there. The Keystone Cops defense has returned. The only thing that gives me hope is KC’s RB Battle is out and Kyle Orton is immobile. The way these opposing quarterbacks have been running for first downs on us is an absolute joke. Reminds me of the 2009 season when Donovan McNabb ran for twenty one yards on a third and twenty late in the game. This defense looks worn down and our quarterback running around like a chicken with its head cut off sure as hell ain’t helping anything.

That said, I’m not too worried about Tebow. He seems to play well in big games and against division rivals. He could have a great game Sunday and you know what? We could still lose.

I believe this game boils down to the Denver Broncos defense and it’s ability to pressure Kyle Orton. I’ve heard some pretty moronic things this week from Denver Post journalists and others about Kyle Orton. They talk about him like he’s Johnny Unitas out there, while in reality there’s absolutely no telling whether he’ll even be a Chief next year–that’s how amazing he is. We all know how limited he is and how he plays under pressure. We all know about his mobility on par with a one legged goat.

A one legged goat. Probably worse legs than Matt Cassel and we all know what our defense did to him in November. Well, a defense that wasn’t worn down like it is now. Unbelievable.

Pressure Kyle Orton, get to him and this game is won. Go get him. We got the Chiefs QB before, time to man up and get him again. Fail this and it’s down the river on a $^%thouse door, baby.

The Broncos should win this game — on paper. On paper we’re a better team than the Chiefs and they are limited on offense with Kyle Orton, Dwayne Bowe and McCluster. We should have an answer for each of these players, the key term is should. I’m not confident at all the way our team is playing, how could you be based on the past couple performances?

In recent years, the Broncos late season woes have been inexcusable. Look at the Infographic here, unbelievable suckage in the ass-end of the season.

Mike Shanahan and Jay “Huckdort” Cutler couldn’t do it.

Josh McDaniels and Kyle “Cuckooman” Orton couldn’t do it.

Can John Fox and Timmy Teebs do it? We’ll learn a lot about Fox and Tebow in this game. Can Fox motivate this team to show up? Can Tebow lead the offense to the playoffs?

I better see fires lit under asses. I better see us up by twenty one points in the first half. It better go down like that.

I’ll tell you what: I ain’t going down with this ship. Fail this task and it’s going to be trouble.

I’ll tell you something Tim Tebow, maybe God doesn’t care if the Broncos lose.

But P.P. Dublinski sure as hell does.

I better not get disrespected this Sunday. Better come to play. Don’t you dare embarrass me.

For I am the Dark Ninja of the Depths. I am the Catalyst. I have wisdom upon my brow and in my right hand is strength.

In my left hand is vengeance.

I am the Catalyst and Pat Bowlen surely reads the iron truths of P.P. Dublinski.

I heralded the s%^tcanning of Shanhan — but that was easy.

I proclaimed the demise of Jay “Huckdort” Cutler months before it happened. Months before anyone even imagined such a thing. I knew he didn’t look right, didn’t protect the ball. Go google Huckdort, go gaze at that incredible image search. My iron truths on display for all to see.

And yes, Josh McDaniels did ultimately fail the Broncos is many ways — but I still believe his time will come elsewhere and he is responsible for tossing Brandon Marshall, Tony Scheffler and that gooned out Huckdort. You can add Peyton Hillis to that list — something ain’t right with him and his attitude.

He canned these Shanahan era prima donna losers and I and everyone else should be thankful for it.

I heralded the demise of Brandon Marshall, I knew he was gone while others were enthralled with the coach’s “hug” and figured he’d surely come back. Pay him fifty million plus — what a laugh.

The very next day after I turned on McDaniels he was fired. Bowlen figured P.P. turned and that is all.

This team gets into the playoffs and that is a win in and of itself. Don’t matter if we lost 50-3 to the Steelers or whoever. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. Know them by their strange, malformed logic and puerile acuity on the level of a gelatinous sea cucumber or facsimile thereof.

My power and countenance is not to be trifled with. Don’t you dare disrespect me out there.

I better see fires lit under asses and I better see a real football team out there.

Fail this and it will be one hell of a long offseason.

John Elway Sees the Light of Tebow

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

The Sports Illustrated jinx is in full effect.

No more Tebow on the cover of SI thank you.

No Madden covers either please.

Pretty much figured this game was over after the second quarter debacle.

You can’t turn the ball over three times like that against Brady and Co. or just about any team and expect to win.

The Indianapolis Colts defense played better against the Pats. That’s right, the fricken Colts.

This is a reminder that the Denver Broncos defense is not great. They’ve been opportunistic lately, not great.

I’ll tell you something, this defense better shape up or we can kiss the playoffs goodbye. The Bills game is no gimme, neither is the Chiefs. This defense hasn’t played very well the last few games and it stunk the place up today. I expected Brady to throw the ball well on us, I didn’t expect the Patriots to run at will on us.

Better shape up there or we’re screwed. They seem worn down, happens every year around this time. Better get things straightened out right quick or its down the river on s $^&thouse door baby.

We couldn’t pressure Brady with any consistency and they ran the ball pretty well all day long.

I want to see those Eddie Royal option plays canned–they suck.

Can Willis McGahee stay on the field for once? I say we need a young Willis McGahee for a reason.

I will say one thing about New England: They’ll be screwed against a Baltimore or Pittsburgh in the playoffs. Those teams won’t make the mistakes we made today and they’ll play better defense.

Same could be said for the Broncos, but knowledgeable fans realize just being in the playoffs would be a “win” this year. This team has a lot of holes and areas to upgrade.

At least they had a dog riding monkey at halftime.

One Broncos “fan” is thrilled today: Mark Schlereth.

Tebow is the Starter in 2012

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Adam Schefter knows what John Elway, John Fox, Mark Schlereth, Shannon Sharpe and Alfred Williams will not admit: Timmy Teebs is the Broncos starting quarterback in 2012.

The writing is on the wall and the dissenting voices must be stamped out.

We will draft to surround this kid with complimentary talent and go forward with this winning game plan.

I dare John Elway and his cronies to try and do otherwise.

What I say is the truth, my words are iron and will not be transmogrified by the Broncos PR department.

However, I demand an apology from John Elway. I demand a public apology to the fans and to Tim Tebow for the horrible mis-management of the quarterback situation early this season.

John Elway and John Fox squandered this season on a quarterback that is now playing for the (*(*(^ing Chiefs…

Woody Paige is correct. They squandered the season, they gave Orton all the first team reps and ridiculed the kid left and right. Opened up a can of worms for his slimy detractors to feed on — no way to breed loyalty.

The season was squandered early on, it was mishandled and before we go forward I demand an apology to the fans and Father Timmy from John Elway.

This team could have the division all but wrapped up right now. Our defense didn’t play that badly against the Raiders or the Titans early on. You telling me that Timmy Teebs wouldn’t have won those two games? Perhaps even the Chargers game? You’d have to at least give him one… most reasonable people would give him two wins there. Hell we could be playing for a bye.

But oh no, we had to weather a bunch of BS all preseason and through the first five games. Bunch of BS from the front office, a certain player and the majority of the Denver Post goobers. I know there were others, but these people are managing and covering the Broncos and they should have known better. Win more than we’ll lose with the prototypical pocket passer, the practice players are the real gamers… what a load.

I address this and more in my two-part earth shattering video where I, P.P. Dublinski say what must be said. I don’t forget and my truths will not be bifurcated and or dismissed.

In other news the Patriots are ripe, ripe for a loss this weekend. I would be confident of a win if this team had more pieces of the puzzle in place. It’s getting clearer what this team needs: a young McGahee to compliment McGahee, a fast wide receiver who can do a decent impression of Percy Harvin and one more good offensive lineman. I believe acquiring a big RT and kicking Orlando Franklin in to G might be a recipe for a dominant right side of the offensive line. As it stands this team does not impose its will on 3rd and short running the football out of the I formation. We get stuffed against a good defense, this better change.

On defense, we certainly need a middle linebacker and one more defensive lineman who can play the run and sack the quarterback on occasion, one more horse up front people have to worry about. Those are a few pieces of the puzzle this team is lacking. Still, I think we’ll have a god shot against New England, their defense doesn’t impress. I believe we’ll either run for a boatload of yards or we’ll pass for a whole bunch. Maybe even both. It will be up to our defense to show up and play big. Our defense hasn’t played exceptional lately — they’ve been very opportunistic — I didn’t like the way that Gerhart or Barber ran on us and I didn’t like how that Hainey threw on us either. The Broncos dropped big passes last week, but so did the Bears and some of those fellas were wide open when they dropped them.

I don’t believe it. I don’t even believe it.

Kudos to Matt Prater and the Denver defense.

Marion Barber is a lonely man right now.

Sorry Charles Barkley.

Tebow Talk: Bill Parcells Schools Merril Hoge

Monday, December 5th, 2011

Edit: Video gone, full transcript here.

In order to get to the good stuff, unfortunately you have to slog through early Sunday commentary from Keyshawn Johnson and Cris Carter which is about as useless as dingleberries in a paper bag. Additionally we hear Tommy Jackson reiterate what he probably learned in a conference call with John Elway: Tebow won’t be the starter next year, enjoy it for what it’s worth.

That’s great, that’s genius. I suppose old grandpa Elway is just gonna pluck a franchise QB off the franchise QB tree in the late first round come April. As if it were that easy Tommy.

Better take a QB in the 3rd or 4th round there grandpa, sorry. This team has bigger needs right now than a backup quarterback who “might” do something.

Parcells trumps the Hog big-time yesterday, Timmy Teebs goes on to play a game backing up everything Parcells states and a beaten Merril practically capitulates on the radio today, saying other teams may follow the route of the Broncos offense since they’re having success and admits Tebow is progressing.

Having fun listening to the pundits talk about Denver in the playoffs, how they won’t match up well against other playoff teams… Unreal. True fans will realize if the Broncos get to the playoffs that is their Super Bowl this year.

Tim Tebow

The Comeback Kid

If I hear another so-called analyst say Tim Tebow cannot throw the football it may get personal.

I don’t want to hear it any more.

Boomer Esiason looked like he just bit into a live frog.

“Kid Can’t Play, Can’t Throw,” genius words “Boomer.”

Maybe we ought to change his name to Boofer.

Don’t want to hear anymore garbage from Tom  Jackson… still just “fun to watch” for now Tommy?

Looking forward to the draft Tommy? Instead of celebrating a big win on the road… yet again?

Last week Mark Schlereth and others had the audacity to claim Timmy Teebs won’t be playing for the Broncos next year or any team.

Good luck with that dude, sounds like wishful thinking.

I don’t want to hear any more about John Elway’s phantom franchise quarterback. Be smart, draft a second or third rounder and groom him if Tebow eventually fails. Don’t break the bank trying to move up for an unproven commodity that ” might look the part.”

Earth to John Fox: Your quarterback CAN throw.

If anyone on the Denver Broncos deserves ridicule, it is the coach and every member of the front office who were responsible for starting Kyle Orton.

I don’t want to hear another word of criticism out of Elway’s mouth: Tim Tebow is bailing your ass out Mr. Elway.

Tim Tebow is bailing you out from your horrible 1 and 4 decision. Instead of tied for the AFC West, we should be up at least two games.

P.S. Us running out of the I formation sucks 80% of the time.

Tom Jackson: Be Nice to John Elway’s Franchise QB

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

Heard something unbelievable on ESPN last night.

I heard Tom Jackson tell the Tebow fans to stop being harsh to John Elway since he will be drafting a franchise QB this offseason and such criticism will be unfair to that franchise quarterback.

You’ve got to be kidding me.

Trouble is, I don’t think he is kidding.

John Elway seems to be a bit of a blabbermouth and I’m beginning to understand why Mark Schlereth, Tom Jackson, Alfred Williams and Shannon Sharpe are so down on Tebow despite his success.

They all have Elways ear.

I’m beginning to believe Skip Bayless when he states Elway is disappointed after every Broncos win–not so much John Fox. Woody Paige claimed he interviewed John Fox, John Elway and Brian Xanders in July for a few hours each. He came away with the notion that these three guys were 1-1-1 in terms of belief in Tebow, one believed, one was on the fence and one didn’t believe at all.

I believe the foil is John Elway. I believe Xanders believes (because he helped pick him) and I believe John Fox was the one on the fence.

Fast forward to now and I believe John Fox has moved over to Xanders position: Here is the offense he’s always dreamed of. This is John Fox football no doubt, no mistakes, run the ball 500 times and play great defense.

With the success we’re having, we could do well to pick up a burner at WR in the future (think Willie Gault), a top-flight running back (think of a young McGahee) and perhaps a guard or tackle. We’d place this offense into overdrive.

With a few more personnel, this offense could kill big time teams by keeping a Manning, a Brady off the field, pounding the football, controlling the clock.

Instead, Tommy J says “it’s fun to watch for now” and that Tebow fans are “doing a disservice” to the franchise QB Elway will pick in this year’s draft.

You have to be kidding me.

As if it is that easy? You’re just going to pick a franchise QB off the proverbial tree?

How many teams will be drafting quarterbacks before us? We’ll be a shoe-in to draft a franchise QB?

What a joke?

What if we make the playoffs? What if we come close to the playoffs? Maybe we’re supposed to subscribe to Shannon’s not so sharp view that winning doesn’t matter?

We’ll just throw the progress away and go into next season with Brady Quinn and “some phantom rookie that Elway picks that will surely be ready.”

What a total joke.

What planet are you on Tom Jackson?

Planet Elway?
