Bronco Notes 8/14

The intensity of the Broncos practices with Dallas seem to be amping up. CBS4Denver reports Brandon Marshall beat Adam “Pacman” Jones on a deep route for a touchdown during the morning practice. He later said Adam Jones isn’t even as good as “Pacman” Jones among other things:

“As a (defensive back) in the NFL press coverage is how you’re supposed to make your money. So let’s get it. I said, ‘let’s go deep.’ We went deep. We were 100 percent going deep on Pacman Jones, I mean, Adam, sorry. And we won.”

CBS4′s Reggie Rivers also relays that during today’s practice a scuffle broke out between Dallas offensive guard Flozell Adams and Broncos defensive tackle Marcus Thomas. What ignited the minor altercation was Thomas evading the blocks of the Dallas line and tackling their running back for a loss.

In other news, former Broncos safety John Lynch will sign with the New England Patriots. The teams will play each other October 20 on Monday Night Football.

Nice things were said about Jay Cutler in one of the Dallas Newspapers..

Just like Wednesday, the Thursday afternoon practice seemed to fly by. One thing that really stood out was how the Broncos’ offense ran the 2-minute drill against the Cowboys’ dime package.

Denver QB Jay Cutler started with a short completion to Eddie Royal. Then on second down, a pass clanged off Brandon Marshall’s hands. From there, Cutler didn’t miss.

Daniel Graham caught a pass in traffic. Kenny Colbert caught a short pass. Marshall caught another ball and was pushed out of bounds by Adam Jones. Graham caught another pass even though Ken Hamlin delivered a good hit. Colbert again. Andre Hall joined in the fun on the right side. Two passes later, the Broncos scored with 23 seconds remaining.

Cutler was 9-for-10 on the drive. Backup quarterback Patrick Ramsey didn’t fare as well against the Cowboys’ second team. Samie Parker caught an 8-yard gain on fourth-and-7 that could have been challenged. Then on fourth-and-13, Ramsey couldn’t connect with Glenn Martinez on a deep ball
