As usual, P.P. is right on the money. I especially appreciate his remarks about Alphonso Smith's performance in preseason and early in the regular season. I've made this argument in the Post forum and girl scouts like bronc C claim I'm out of my mind. I thought A. Smith looked great until he got hurt, but his injury didn't get much notice. I recall he limped off the field in one of the early games. I can't remember which one. But if I remember correctly, Jack Williams took his place and things went south from there.

With any luck, we'll get a first rounder for Marshall. But an early second and fourth wouldn't be bad either. For example, if we got Tampa's 35th pick (or something nearby from another team in exchange for Marshall) we would be in a great position with three of the first 45 picks.

I thought NT Dan Williams from Tennessee looked impressive in the Senior Bowl. He has an ass as big as a car and gets great leverage. He pushed back double teams on a lot of plays and seemed to handle Iupati (the huge guard that everyone is talking about) pretty well. As a result, Williams might move into the top 15 on several draft boards. It's impossible to know whether McD would be interested in him with the 10th or 11th pick. The downside: The last time the Broncos drafted a Dan Williams it didn't work out too well.

McClain is a stud. I know we have other needs, but I would love to see him in blue and orange. He probably won't be there at 10 or 11 though. We haven't had a legit deep threat in a while, so Dez Bryant makes sense. The fact that he got in trouble due to the agent problem might be our good fortune because it's knocked him down the draft board. This guy is a major talent. He's a pretty big boy for a receiver. He also has great hands and he's a lot faster than Marshall.

I like this a lot. I've grown a bit tired of the constant daily mock drafts and free agency speculation. People trying to plug specific names into specific draft slots and all. Nobody has a clue because the same people make totally different predictions every day. There's not even anything solid to base any of them on except personal speculation and it's just getting old. I wish everyone would just step back, take a break from the speculating, and come back when something actually happens that might give them a reason to change what they said yesterday. Anyway, that's just me, and as I said, I liked your comments.
