Woody Paige is jealous of Josh McDaniels.

woody paige

He’s jealous and he’s hurt that the new coach don’t listen to a word he says.

This nonsense about Paige being put off -and thinking the team was put off at all- by Josh McDaniel’s gray sweatshirt is an absolute joke. Woody Paige has the gall to say McDaniels don’t know who he is.

On the other subject, I have sat two feet away from McDaniels, just the two of us, and I said: “Lose the hoodie. Get your own thing.” He paid no attention. He stuck it in my face, your face, and the players’ faces. It shouldn’t be that big a deal, except we know why he wears it. He’s still Belichick’s man, not his own man.

This is absolute stupidity, the only one complaining about the hood is Paige and the jealousy is palpable. Maybe Woody Paige ought to stick to an opinion for once. He proclaims the coach’s decisions suck and the season will be an epic failure, then he proclaims McDaniels was the pick of the litter and every decision McDaniels made was golden. Now he’s back to doom and gloom. Maybe Woody should be a man of his word for once and not some fickle, drifting  sea cucumber.

Besides, the tradition of the hoodie tells us McDaniels knows exactly who he is and where he comes from: the Parcells/Belichik tree.

He is a true disciple of Belichik. Instead of getting pushed over, instead of being weak, he takes miscreants like Marshall and Scheffler and benches their asses on the eve of a game with playoff implications.

Oh no, Woody Paige wants to look past Marshall’s crap. He’d take his crap and eat it right in front of the young players. Great message that sends: You too can get away with this nonsense in time.

McDaniels Hoodie

I hope he wears that hoodie from now on just to spite you Paige. I hope he wears it while he raises a Lombardi trophy one day and sticks it right in your face. Woody Paige will go out and buy a hoodie of his own after that I bet. It will be his favorite snuggy and will probably end up smelling like dusty boofarts since he won’t be able to pry it off him. He’s jealous and nobody is making anything out of the hoodie but him.

The Broncos have indicated quietly they will offer Orton a long-term contract. That would be a mistake.

No, giving Brandon Marshall 50+ million for being a me first, prima donna loser who’s trying to kill team morale and is this close to being suspended for weeks if not a season… oh yeah that’s just genius right there. We should bankrupt the team for this loser. Orton won’t command big money, I hope we do sign him for years. If we got somebody who eventually does what he does and more… Orton is one hell of a backup to have in this league. If not, he is our best chance at winning. I wonder if the great Woody Paige missed Orton in that Washington game, in the second San Diego game? I hope we all saw what he means to this team.

Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler will not be back, despite your wishes, your prayers, your letters to sports writers or to the coach. The only way I would succeed in dropping a hint to McDaniels is to drop an anvil on his head. He has not listened to any of my suggestions — in person in our talks or in columns I’ve written.

Let’s bow our heads and pray together: “Thank ye, oh Lord that Josh McDaniels doesn’t listen to a word Woody Paige says.”

Woody Paige thinks the 4 and 12 Broncos team should start Chris Simms, cause we all know he’s better than Orton. Woody Paige wants us to pay out the ass for Brandon Marshall, that would be smart wouldn’t it? Pay a guy with his off-field history, with the crap he did in preseason and the fact that he just got benched for a “playoff” game, cleaned out his locker and took off his name plate… oh yeah we gotta just run to the bank and throw money at this guy.

We gotta get on our hands and knees and beg Marshall so he likes us.

We can’t let Huckdort get away, but we did so the franchise is lost. Oh and did you hear? Woody Paige thinks just about all the guys we drafted high aren’t players. That shows you his acuity. I suppose every rookie is supposed to come out and play like gangbusters their first year.

I’m sick and tired of this crap. We got a guy leading rookie rushers in yards and he’s shown all the flashes you want to see. He’s got moves, got some power and he catches brilliantly. You people coming down hard on Moreno are coming down way to early. Not to mention he came out after being a sophomore, the kid’s got room to grow.  Where was Chris Johnson last year? 16 games 1200 yards?  Where was this Charles kid from the Chiefs his first year?  Our guy’s splitting carries out there, started 9 games 947 yards but oh he can’t be anything cause his average is 3.8 yards a pop.

I wonder why it’s 3.8 a pop. Oh I suppose Paige thinks he don’t hit the holes that are so obviously there. What a joke, I suppose Buckhalter, Jordan and Hillis couldn’t hit the holes neither. We didn’t make holes, we got pushed back and tossed around like ragdolls on the line of scrimmage. Moreno is a talent and he fits this system perfectly. I am glad he is playing for us and won’t be killing us as a Charger for years to come.

Ayers showed flashes and got better as the season went on, you want to see some flashes out of a rookie. He’ll be a player, I saw some moves out there, I saw flashes. He was getting good pressures later in the year. What you don’t want to see is a certain guy named Moss. When he got in there as a rookie I saw nothing. I didn’t see anything and haven’t since. Ayers, Moreno and even that Smith kid showed flashes that they can play. You can’t seriously determine the true strength of a draft for two or three years anyways.

McDaniels won his battles with Marshall and Scheffler, but he lost the war.

One of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. Paige wrote a piece where he lauded McDaniels as our coach of the future, that he truly was the good fruit off the Belichik tree. That was when it looked like we were making the playoffs. After Paige’s gleeful piece, the team loses game after game. Woody Paige can’t buy any luck. Although I’m betting he’s happier things turned out like they did, after all his disdain for McDaniels and everything he does is evident. Evident, except when the Broncos are winning.

Scheffler and Marshall are losers that we can’t get rid of fast enough. Scheffler will go to some finesse team that will suit him since he can’t seem to stay on the field for any length of time anyways. Marshall will go to some desperate team and it will be a matter of time before he melts down and ruins their locker room. Better them, than us. Those two didn’t win anything. They’ve never won anything. McDaniels won on principles. He ain’t gonna take their crap, let someone else.

I spent a little time with Mike the other night at his new restaurant. He doesn’t care for McDaniels or the people with the Broncos any more. The question really is: Who do you think will get to the Super Bowl first, Shanahan or McDaniels?

Finally, Woody Paige shows his true colors. He’s Shanahan’s buddy. All buddy buddy with Shanny just like some of these commentators we got out there. Oh they loved Shanahan and the access he gave them.

McDaniels comes in and puts his foot down, he don’t like the press. He probably noticed a foul odor coming off that Paige and told him to do something about it. Not only is McDaniels principled like Belichik, but he hates the press just as much. Good, screw them.

You can see the arrogance of Paige as plain as day. Woody Paige claims he wanted Rex Ryan instead but didn’t have such kind words for him when he was 3-3, no matter though, the Broncos management should have ran, not walked to hire him. Paige wanted this, that and the other thing, but McDaniels wouldn’t budge. McDaniels won’t even look at him. How dare he discount a living legend like Paige? Paige knows people I hear.

I thought the question really was who goes to the Super Bowl first: the Bears or Denver? I suppose the big franchise up in Chicago don’t look like such a sure deal anymore.

Josh McDaniels is The Golden Bo . . . er . . . The Golden Man.

Everything McMidas has touched with the Broncos has turned to gold: the management crises, the quarterback conundrum, the wide receiver saga, the defensive coordinator appointment, the 3-4 transition.
The Doom switch to linebacker, the Gloom defense, selecting a running back at the top of the draft (and not a defensive lineman), the free-agent acquisitions in the defensive backfield and at running back and wide receiver, the offensive scheme changes.
The miraculous victory in Cincinnati and the impressive late victories against Dallas, New England and San Diego, the return of Eddie Royal to return man and the returns.
The fist pump, the hoodie, the stars and vertically stripes forever.
And a 6-0 start.
Take a breath and take a bye.
Josh McDaniels has become America’s Prodi-Gee Whiz . . . Man. -Paige, Oct. 21

Woody Paige’s window on reality is a short one.

The Man has been golden since he was a boy. -Paige, Oct. 21

That’s how them sea cucumbers are. They don’t got a mind of their own, they just follow the tide.  Whatever is convenient at the moment, I suppose.
