We’re Not Matching An Offer For Marshall

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Fools, goobers, morons lend me your ears.

Let the voice of reality sink in.

The Broncos handed “the best wide receiver in football” a first round tender.

Now I see some of you people spinning this–as you spin out of control–I see some of you people saying we did this “so we can see his value and match the offer.”

What a joke.

Are you people for real? Like that Numby at the Post? Are you for real?

Do we have people in middle school writing some of these blogs and posting on forums? If so, that’s honestly excusable. In cases where they ain’t: that’s ridiculous.

Some of you people can’t see the writing on the wall–I seen it since before the 2009 season began.

We are NOT matching an offer for Brandon Marshall. We are NOT rewarding Marshall’s attitude and BS. Marshall will NOT be the face of this franchise for years to come.

Not because I don’t think so, not because I don’t want it to happen. It’s reality, plain and simple.

“Fair market value,” is a bunch of BS too, Marshall is a risk, he is a poison, forget about equal trade value.

He’s gone, get over it.

I believe the Jets might be the one to pull the trigger. They’re somewhat established over there and they need a possession style receiver to compliment Edwards. Marshall is the missing piece in their puzzle.

Seahawks? Well they got trade ammo, but bringing in a locker room cancer, bringing in a troublemaker with a brand new head coach? Good luck, if they go that route.

Marshall’s gone, we are not paying millions for his BS, we are not making him rich to sit in a game with playoff implications. We’re not making him rich to see if he can remain out of trouble, yet again.

You can replace Marshall, you can replace the production of a wide receiver, split his production between two players. You can’t replace Dumervil’s production, plus the fact that Dumervil is a professional–Marshall is not.

No way is this coach  going to reward Marshall for his BS, no way, no how. Not with what he’s trying to instill in these players, in this franchise. All the hugs in the world ain’t gonna smooth over the truth that Marshall is unprofessional, a locker room cancer, a risk to even stay on the field and slightly overrated.

Marshall is not the best wide receiver in football, he’s not dynamic enough. He is a great possession receiver and gets good yards after the catch, he’s a decent blocker too. He ain’t no Larry Fitzgerald game-breaker.

Let’s hope someone else thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread, and we’ll let someone else take the risk.

The Brandon Marshall Trade: It’s Coming

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

A comment was recently left by someone trying to besmirch my good name–and failing–but they asked “What if Brandon Marshall stays with the Broncos this year?”

“Will I eat my words?”

And my answer is: No, I will not eat my words.

ESPN League Source

League source says: " Brandon Marshall surely won't be traded."

In light of all the BS Marshall’s pulled on and off the field, in light of the fact that McDaniels is a man of principle building a team of winners, the fact that our number 1 wide receiver was benched on the eve of a “playoff” game, the fact that Marshall is one step away from lengthy suspension, the fact that Marshall is a locker room cancer and a me-first prima donna loser…

Bringing Marshall back this year would be stupid.

I am confident McDaniels and Co. will not make this mistake. If they did, I would not relent on voicing my great displeasure with that porous decision.

When I read someone, and I do get around the blogosphere, when I read someone’s mock draft or their opinions on all things Broncos and they either a) assume Marshall will be back with the team or b) are hoping he’ll be back with the team… You know what I do?

I stop reading.

Because this person obviously doesn’t know this coach. This person probably doesn’t know this team.

And I state this, for you people’s own good. All them who got an ear, listen to what PP Dublinski is saying and has been saying all along:

When it comes to Marshall, you gotta get what you can.

1st round pick? Great. Two seconds? Sounds good, even if one is next year. A second rounder and a good player? A great player and a third rounder? A good player in a position of need?

Sayonara Marshall.

This ain’t the post-Elway ass end of the Shanahan era starring Daryl Gardener, Maurice Clarett, Travis Henry, Brandon Marshall and others. You can even add Huckdort in there–with that attitude and look? Should have known from the interview at the combine Hucky didn’t look right. Some of you people are living in the past. Living in the past where pathetic desperation gave way to questionable character and spoiled me first prima donna losers.

You know what I would trot out if the Broncos kept Marshall this year? I’d trot out the Brandon Marshall Meltdown Meter.

My diabolical nature, my supreme tact envisioned and produced the Huckdort Counter (which I have just updated). My word was sound and the Huck Counter was made whole.

Jay "Huckdort" Cutler

Jay "Huckdort" Cutler

Admit it, damn it all, you people admit it: You people loved that Huckdort Counter. You could not get enough of it. Hell, I bet it was good for few thousand hits–and it was all me baby.

That Huckdort counter was–and is–a symbol of my greatness. My supreme tact on display for all to see.

I am reality and my supreme tact will not be bifurcated, and or condensed, and or dismissed.

I will trot out the Brandon Marshall Meltdown Meter, with every dropped pass, with every loss the meter will rise, until finally the meltdown will occur–and I will be there to throw it in the face of McDaniels and Broncos management every step of the way. Throw it in their face, for their insufficient tact, poor mental acuity and thoroughly lackluster vision of the future.

But I am confident that will not happen. I am confident McDaniels and management will do the right thing and ship his ass to some team for a pittance if need be. He’s gone.

Hell, I think I’m going to trot out the Brandon Marshall Meltdown Meter at the beginning of this season regardless. It will only be a matter of time before he acts up with his new team.

Jay Cutler Traded to the Bears

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

The Bronco released this statement:

Broncos agree to trade Jay Cutler to Chicago

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – “The Denver Broncos have agreed in principle to trade quarterback Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears. Terms of the deal will be disclosed at a later time.”

Source: Bill Williamson ESPN

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the Bears are sending two first-round draft picks (2009 and ‘10), a ‘09 third-round pick and former starting quarterback Kyle Ortonto Denver in exchange for Cutler and an ‘09 fifth-round pick.

Wow, the bears pick 18th, Kyle Orton? but who knows the Broncos may not be finished making moves. It looks like that fifth round pick of the Broncos in the deal is actually a 3rd rounder. My mistake, we’re receiving Orton, two first rounders and a third round pick for Cutler and a fifth round pick this year.

Domonique Foxworth Traded To Atlanta Falcons

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

CBS4 Denver reports the Broncos traded Domonique Foxworth to the Atlanta Falcons for a seventh round pick. One would assume it is for next year’s draft.

Maybe I just don’t know much about trade values… but the trade of Montrae Holland for a fifth round pick in 2010 and now Foxworth for a 7th round pick just seems disappointing.

Update: it seems Denver could get an extra sixth round pick for Foxworth if he resigns with Atlanta, still I was hoping for a little more. Like fourth or fifth round more,  perhaps the fact that he didn’t play very well this preseason when they showcased him didn’t help teams assessment of him.
